Swedish electronic company Teenage Engineering are known for their innovative audio products. Founded in 2007, the company’s breakthrough product was the OP-1, introduced at the NAMM Show in 2010. This hybrid synthesizer, sampler and sequencer sports toy-like looks that belie its powerful engine. Users took to the OP-1 in droves and it quickly became a modern classic. Teenage Engineering have gone on to produce a diverse range of audio products tied together by the commonality of their design aesthetic and use of new ideas.
Their Pocket Operator series introduced a range of small format (calculator-sized) synths and drum machines with sequencers on board. These units came in a number of themes such as Office, Robot, Factory and Sub. Other projects include a wireless speaker range, a musical switchboard for connecting instruments and software and a Polaroid-style camera
At Store DJ we stock a great range of Teenage Engineering devices. We love their weird and wonderful approach to industrial and sound design.
