Product Information
Teenage Engineering's EP-136 Sidekick Mixer is a portable, feature-dense mixing tool designed for DJs and producers who need hands-on control over three stereo channels in a pocket-sized form factor. At 240 mm × 88 mm × 16 mm and weighing just 300 g, it pairs analogue–style mixing with digital workflow flexibility: dual stereo channel strips, a third stereo auxiliary input, configurable EQ modes (switchable between DJ and studio curves), and a built-in USB audio interface with eight channels in and four channels out. The pressure-sensitive force pad and high-resolution mod stick deliver expressive control over parameters, while dual effects engines with sequenceable tap-fx allow real-time sound manipulation during performance or production.
Signal integrity and battery independence define the Sidekick's technical foundation. Audio processing runs at 48 kHz, 24-bit resolution; inputs deliver a maximum level of 8 dBu (2 V RMS) with 105 dB-A signal-to-noise ratio, whilst the output stage hits 1.4 V RMS at 108 dB-A SNR. A high-resolution colour LCD screen provides visual feedback for all parameters, and dual beat-match controls sync channels with precision. Power comes from either two AAA batteries or USB-C, making the Sidekick viable for untethered sets or extended studio sessions. Impedance sits at 10k for inputs and 7k for outputs, ensuring clean integration with turntables, controllers, and outboard gear across standard club and home setups.
