sE Electronics sE8 Supercardioid Instrument Condenser Mic Capsule (Pair)

Hand-made capsules and a metal-bodied construction define these small-diaphragm condenser capsules, engineered as replacements or expansions for the sE8 modular microphone system. The sE Electronics sE8 Supercardioid Instrument Condenser Mic Capsule brings a tighter polar pattern to the sE8 platform, delivering superior off-axis rejection compared to standard cardioid designs. This pair of capsules allows engineers to target specific sound sources with greater precision, making them particularly effective on drum overheads, hi-hats, and other applications where spill rejection matters. The supercardioid pattern provides maximum gain-before-feedback in live applications while maintaining the balanced frequency response and low self-noise that characterise the sE8 series.

Each capsule features a sophisticated backplate design that contributes to the sE8's exceptionally low noise floor, positioning it among the quietest small-diaphragm microphones available. The system handles extreme sound pressure levels and wide dynamic range, outperforming other microphones in its class when positioned near loud sources like snare drums, brass instruments, and guitar amplifiers. Integrated attenuation pads and low-cut filters are accessible via switches on the microphone body, allowing engineers to tailor the response without external processing. The capsules thread directly onto sE8 microphone bodies, offering complete compatibility with both omni and cardioid capsule options for maximum flexibility across recording scenarios.
