Product Information
The Palmer PAN 01 is a passive DI box built for the signal-handling demands of real-world venues and studios. Unlike active designs, it relies on transformer-balanced architecture to convert high-impedance instrument or speaker outputs into low-impedance, balanced XLR for mixing consoles and audio interfaces. Palmer's passive topology eliminates the need for phantom power or batteries, making it a transparent, always-ready tool for touring and session work.
Signal handling is the PAN 01's strength. A 10:1 step-down transformer coupled with an attenuable input pad (–30 dB reduction available) allows it to manage both line-level and speaker-level signals—crucial flexibility when dealing with variable output stages. Input impedance sits at 60 kOhm, with a maximum input level of +54 dBu and output capability up to +4 dBu. The parallel 6.3 mm jack THRU output lets you send unbalanced signal downstream while the XLR carries balanced signal to the console. A ground-lift switch addresses hum in problematic cable runs. Sheet-steel powder-coated chassis measures 110 × 73 × 42 mm and weighs 340 g.
