Product Information
Genelec's 9320A monitor controller combines five reference-grade functions in a single desktop hub: professional monitor control, GLM room calibration interface, USB audio output, headphone amplifier with 126 dB dynamic range, and physical SAM system control. This UNIO Personal Reference Monitoring bundle pairs the 9320A with factory-calibrated 8550A Professional Reference Headphones and a precision measurement microphone, creating a matched monitoring system that bridges studio speaker setups and mobile headphone work with exceptional sonic consistency. The 9320A delivers THD+N below –110 dB across all outputs and supports headphone impedances from 16 to 600 ohms, making it a reference-accurate hub for DJs and producers moving between club system tuning, studio mixdowns, and on-location production work.
The 9320A routes stereo audio via balanced analogue, AES/EBU digital, or USB type-C, with all signal paths extending to 46 kHz bandwidth and offering over 120 dB dynamic range. Analogue inputs accept +12 dBu or +24 dBu maximum levels, while the AES output achieves 138 dB A-weighted dynamic range for pristine digital-to-speaker signal transfer. Physical controls provide instant access to GLM monitor layouts, enabling rapid switching between multiple speaker pairs, subwoofer configurations, and headphone monitoring without software window juggling or level readjustment between sources. The backlit display shows continuous A, C, and Z-weighted SPL monitoring with dose accumulation tracking across five international safety standards, while the included reference microphone enables GLM's automated room correction and GRADE acoustic analysis reports. The 9320A functions standalone without a computer for basic dual-stereo monitoring, or integrates with GLM software and Aural ID binaural processing for immersive headphone monitoring with personalised HRTF profiles.
The bundled 8550A headphones arrive factory-matched to the 9320A's serial number, creating an actively calibrated closed-loop monitoring system rather than passive headphone pairing. This matched calibration enables DJs to cross-reference club PA tuning work against a consistent portable reference, then transition directly to headphone-based mix revisions with aligned frequency response and level staging. The bundle includes both 3-metre straight and 5-metre coiled headphone cables, alternative textile ear cushions and headband surfaces for extended sessions, and separate hard cases for the 9320A controller and 8550A headphones. Power draws from the USB type-C data connection with 2–3.2 ms latency, or from an optional separate USB-C supply when computer bus power is insufficient for sustained high-level monitoring.
