The Focusrite ISA C8X is a 2U rack–mounted audio interface built on decades of studio preamp heritage, paired with the connectivity and I/O density required for modern production and live performance workflows. Eight fully remote–controlled microphone preamps deliver up to 79 dB of gain, with the first two channels featuring Focusrite's signature ISA topology and Lundahl LL1538 transformers. The interface offers 26 simultaneous inputs and 28 outputs via USB–C, plus comprehensive analogue and digital routing that scales from overdub sessions to complex multi–channel setups.

Conversion specs hold 24–bit/192 kHz resolution with 116–117 dB dynamic range across outputs and inputs respectively. Each preamp features switchable input impedance across four settings (800 Ω low, 1400 Ω ISA 110, 2400 Ω medium, 7000 Ω high), an 75 Hz high–pass filter with 18 dB/octave slope, and independent phantom power control. Connectivity spans 12 line outputs, two headphone pairs, dual ADAT I/O (16 channels at 44.1/48 kHz), S/PDIF, MIDI, word clock, and talkback routing. Minimum noise floor reaches –128 dB (A–weighted), with THD+N measuring –100 dB at 8 dB gain.

Beyond recording, the ISA C8X functions as a mastering–grade summing mixer and live monitoring hub, thanks to Console and 430 Air analogue processing modes on all eight channels and full Focusrite Control 2 software integration. The architecture accommodates ADAT expansion for drum machines, samplers, and outboard gear whilst maintaining tight synchronisation via word clock. This makes the unit equally capable driving multi–deck DJ setups with external effects racks or anchoring producer rigs requiring pristine monitoring and recall–able signal chains.
