ART Pro Audio Dual Passive Direct Box

The ART Pro Audio Dual Passive Direct Box is a two-channel transformer-isolated DI designed to convert unbalanced instrument, line, and speaker signals into balanced XLR outputs for mixing consoles and recording interfaces. Each channel features a 50 kΩ input impedance and 600Ω output impedance, with transformer isolation ensuring clean signal transfer and excellent channel separation exceeding 80 dB. The fully passive design requires no external power, making it dependable for stage and studio applications where reliability matters most.

Front-panel switches on each channel provide three attenuation settings–0 dB, -20 dB, and -40 dB–to handle everything from instrument-level signals to high-powered speaker outputs without distortion. A switchable 30 kHz low-pass Bessel filter eliminates radio frequency interference and high-frequency noise. Rear-mounted ground lift switches reduce hum and buzz caused by ground loops, while phase invert switches resolve polarity issues when combining DI and microphone sources. Frequency response spans 10 Hz to 50 kHz with ±0.5 dB tolerance at +4 dBu, and total harmonic distortion measures just 0.01% at 1 kHz.

Each channel includes both XLR output and parallel 1/4" TRS thru connectors, allowing simultaneous connection to front-of-house mixing while feeding an amplifier onstage. The rugged aluminium enclosure measures 4.7 cm high by 11.7 cm wide by 9.9 cm deep and weighs just 400 grams, fitting easily into crowded pedalboards or rack drawers. The passive transformer design works particularly well with active sources including synthesizers, digital pianos, DJ controllers, and guitars with onboard preamps.
