The LA-220 is an articulate and full-bodied FET condenser microphone that punches far above its weight. This sonically flexible design is equipped with two dedicated filters for analog sound-shaping, a transformer balanced output for classic harmonic saturation and warmth, and an ultra-low-noise USA made JFET for powerful, present sound. Ideal for use on both Female and Male vocals, as well as percussion, the LA-220 puts the classic qualities of beloved vintage microphones into an accessible package ideal for both home and professional recording studio environments.
Immediate analog sound-shaping comes courtesy of the LA-220’s two onboard filters. This allows you to shape sounds at the source, removing the need to change microphones to get the sound you want. Add warmth to a bright vocal or remove harshness and boominess from an acoustic guitar at the flip of a switch.
The capsule of a microphone captures music’s most meaningful moments and converts them into electricity with relentless results. Lauten's custom-made, 32mm capsule provides a modern, vibrant timbre without the harshness often found in affordable microphone designs, making it an ideal choice for vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion.
The LA-220 signal path is hand-populated with high resolution, low distortion polypropylene capacitors and resistors, a US made JFET, and a vintage-inspired output transformer. The result is a powerful, present, mix-ready sound without the high noise floor of many classic microphones.
