Dynamic Microphones are often used by vocalists and announcers, but can also be used to amplify instruments of all types. Dynamic microphones operate by electromagnetic induction to generate an output signal voltage. It is like a miniature loudspeaker working in reverse.

Condenser Microphones are the other most popular type of microphone we sell at Store DJ. These are used mainly in a studio situation and are incredible at picking up all surrounding noise. The diaphragm of a condenser microphone is a very thin plastic film, coated on one side with gold or nickel, and mounted very close to a conductive stationary back plate. A polarising voltage is applied to the diaphragm by an external power supply (battery or phantom power) or by the charge on an electret material in the diaphragm or on the backplate charging it with a fixed static voltage.

Store DJ stocks a large selection of Microphones from Shure, Rode, AKG, Audio Technica, Samson and Behringer perfect for every situation and budget so if you are in need of a microphone, come in and have a talk to any of our staff at one of our 4 stores and we will help navigate you through all your options.
