Rane

Although you will seldom find it published, a manufacturer's philosophy is indeed built into every product. Rane believe that true quality is in the details.

It's seen in the painstakingly chosen precision components, in the neat and solid construction, in the comprehensive manuals, and most importantly in the care and concern of the dedicated people at Rane that make it all happen, in their custom designed facility.

Rane is a pro audio equipment manufacturer, formed in 1981. Located in Mukilteo, Washington, it was made up of former employees of Phase Linear Corporation, and started out with products aimed at small live bands.

Rane first entered the DJ mixer market upon request from Richard Long, who was a famous sound designer for the biggest names in disco. He designed systems for Studio 54, Annabels (London), Regines (a chain of 19 clubs scattered around the world from Paris and New York to Cairo) and many others that were the vanguard of the disco era.

The innovative mixers that Rane create such as the Sixty Eight, Sixty Four, Sixty Two Z-Trip Edition, Sixty Two and Sixty One, work seamlessly with Serato and offer DJs incredible control and versatility. Scratch Live systems including SL2, SL3, SL4 are all on offer for DJs looking to upgrade their traditional DJ setups with the power of computer storage and processing.

Store DJ also stocks a range of Scratch Live replacement vinyl in a range of colours and special editions.

Rane redesigned his famous X3000 crossover using their proprietary technology, creating the X3000A. They also co-designed a DJ equalizer called the Q5000. Based on his successful relationship with Rane, he persuaded them to research the DJ mixer market. They did and produced their first DJ mixer, the MP24 in 1986, which rapidly became the industry standard.

Rane went on to partner with Serato in 1994 to produce the hardware for Scratch Live – the first digital file mixing system to act like real vinyl. Rane has produced several additional Scratch Live interfaces, as well as mixers with Serato controls built in.

At Store DJ we understand Rane. Our staff have used Rane product for years, and know the quality and innovation to be found in their mixers and interfaces. Visit any of our stores to experience Rane for yourself.
