Denon

Denon DJ is the DJ division of global electronics leader Denon. Originally established in 1910 as a part of Nippon Chikuonki Shokai (Japan Recorders Corporation), Denon was then a manufacturer of single-sided disc records and gramophones.

In 1981, Denon created their first professional CD player and backed it up a decade later in 1993 with the worlds first professional twin deck DJ CD player modelled on the features found within the Technics SL1200 Mk2 turntable. DJs could use the DN-200F (and later models such as the DN1000F, DN2000F and DN2500F) to pitch up or down the music stored on CDs as well as trigger start times with an instant start, giving greater control to club and mobile DJs.

Since the emergence of the CD deck being the number one choice for DJs at clubs and venues around the world, Denon have created a host of unique features and technologies that allow DJs to take their sets to new levels, including software for music management (engine) and rotating platters f

It was this creation of a DJ centric CD player that captured the hearts and fans within the DJ community and their professional CD units were seen in most venues around the world until the release of the Pioneer CDJ1000 in 2001.

Since then, Denon have created a host of unique features and technologies that allow DJs to take their sets to new levels, including software for music management (engine) and rotating platters for CD decks such as the DN-3700 and DN-3900.

In 2015, the Denon DJ brand was sold to InMusic, owners of Numark, Akai Pro, Alesis, Alto and M-Audio, giving them a high-end DJ brand to create a range of new equipment for. A Whole new team of engineers have already been hard at work and are set to release products including the MCX8000 4 channel Engine and Serato controller.
